The face behind this blog
Hi! My name is Liz Engelsen and I am a pediatric occupational therapist. I work both in the clinical setting as well as the school setting in the great state of Michigan. In the world of occupational therapy, we call the things a person wants and needs to do each day their occupations. It may sound silly, but children have so many occupations! Play, learning, socialization, eating, getting dressed, a favorite sport or leisure activity - these are just a few of the things a child does on a daily basis. Some kiddos experience difficulty with motor skills, sensory processing, or executive functioning that prevent them from being able to fully engage in their occupations. That's where I come in! There is nothing that makes me happier than helping kiddos play, grow, and get motivated in every possible way! Whether your kiddos experience challenges or not, I'm excited to share some of my favorite OT tips, tricks, and activities with you so that you can help them grow (and have fun!) from the comfort of your own home! :)
*Opinions and recommendations are my own and do not reflect that of my employer.*
**Many activities will include gross motor/body movement, sensory play, and craft activities. Please be mindful of your safety as well as the safety of your kiddo when engaging in these activities!**
